Power of the words

Ponder over this;

Despite their military prowess and before the first move look at the words David Vs Goliath exchange:
Goliath says:” “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!”

David replies:”“You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

Lesson 1:Both back their words with their gods/God,we all know the outcome of that encounter (1sam17)

Look at what Christ teaches us about words:”I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen”

Lesson 2:First we need to have unwavering faith in the Lord,then we pronounce the words and it happens (Mat 21:21)

Lesson 3:When we abide in the Lord and Lord abides in us the words we profess in faith becomes a prophecy and a miracle.

Lesson 4:The words we speak should be girded with righteousness and for sure the Lord will uphold them in His right time (1sam 26:8-10),look at this:

Abishai said to David: “Today God has delivered your enemy into your hands. Now let me pin him to the ground with one thrust of the spear; I won’t strike him twice.”

David said to Abishai: “Don’t destroy him! Who can lay a hand on the LORD’s anointed and be guiltless? As surely as the LORD lives,” he said, “the LORD himself will strike him, or his time will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish”.

Specifically mark these words from David : (” or he will go into battle and perish”)

The battle:
“The fighting grew fierce around Saul, and when the archers overtook him, they wounded him.
Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and abuse me.”
But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it.When the armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he too fell on his sword and died.So Saul and his three sons died, and all his house died together.”(1 Chronicles 10:3-6)

(David in his fear of God wouldn’t attack King Saul simply because he was God’s anointed but his(David) words caught up with him.)

Lesson 5: At the Lord’s appointed time the words of the faithful are fulfilled to the destruction of the wicked and deliverance and crowning of the faithful.
